UPDATE NICU- Baby Fred- Phil. 4:6
Baby Fred was born on 1-27-23 at 25 weeks, weighing 1 lb. 12 oz. Upon checking his E.T. tube, the doctors found out that Fred has multiple fractures in various stages of healing. The X-ray showed that his E.T. was too deep and was causing his higher co2 levels. Once the tube was retaped, Fred still struggled to get the excess co2 out of his system and is now on nitric oxcide. The doctor and respiratory therapist are waiting to see whether or not the new conventional vent settings are helping before moving him back to the oscillator.
